Anything but Average

First the explanation..

I wrote this poem a few months ago, it is my very first.. and I admit that it is pretty amature but I wrote it while thinking about the art work of one of my favourite artist and people  … It’s true that I don’t see her as often as I’d like to(which in a perfect world, would be every morning when I woke up{ok, I’m being bad tonight LoL}).. But as she is by nature an artist and Muse, I share this so that she can see, even small rank amatures such as myself are inspired by her friendship.  :o)

On a quiet Autumn day.

Wishing that I was far away.

Walking my usual path in this place.

I spotted a tree that filled me with Grace.

I sat at it’s roots and rested my head.

The very thought of leaving filled me with dread.

I closed my eyes and breathed out a sigh.

When I heard a soft voice ask; “Why do you cry?”

I told the kind Tree of my despair.

Of burdens more heavy than I could bare.

Of long days and short nights with nary a thanks.

Tired like a wind up toy with no one who cranks.

The Tree took my sorrows one by one.

I felt my soul lighten, my troubles seemed done.

The Tree said; “Trails like Smiles were meant to be shared.

With those all around us, it’s what shows them we care”.

I then returned home and could plainly see.

The People who loved me… Strong like the Tree.
